Setting up your scene

First load your model(s) and set the Lighting to “Two sided lighting”

You also need to open Hypershade:

Applying materials

Before you can apply textures to a material you need to re-apply the materials, as the plug-in loads them in a buggy way and textures don’t show up 95% of the time.
Select a mesh, right mouse button and drag your mouse down to “Assign Favorite Material” and select “Lambert”.

Now in Hypershade you will have a new Lambert. Click on it and then click on the checkered box next to “Color”.

In the next window select “File”:

Then click on the folder next to “Image Name”, navigate to your file and open it.

Now above the Viewport activate “Textured”.

Cleanup

After you applied all materials, in Hypershade go to Edit- “Delete Unused Nodes” to delete the unused materials from the original models.

Tips

Changing renderer for see-through alpha textures

Sometimes your textures might look odd, especially if the texture has alpha and appears see-through. Then you need to change the render mode.

Above the Viewport go to “Renderer” and click on the square on the right.

And then just copy those settings:

Loaded textures don’t show

If you loaded your texture, but it doesn’t show, it’s a bug.

To fix it, simple go into the “Poly Modeling” tab and open the UV-Editor.

That usually fixes it for some reason.

Very transparent textures after reloading the .fbx/.dae

Most of the time your textures will look like this after re-opening your WIP file:

The only way to fix that is to re-apply the affected materials sadly.
